Wedding Parties

Our cast is strong, young, and intelligent. They've been practicing hard to give a good performance. Their bio's are simply a small peek into their lives, and what they mean to Paige and Tyler

starring

Paige : Bride | Tyler : Groom
Paige and Tyler have been together since September of 2006. They have been living together for two years thus far, and it was a first for both of them. Paige is working at Home Outfitters as a Gift Registry Consultant, and Tyler's working on his 10th year at Hamm Construction. The closer the wedding gets, the closer they get, which doesn't always happen. Suppose it helps that they both know what they want out of the wedding, but are open to ideas, hmm?

Jill : Maid-of-Honour part 1
Jill is Paige's gym buddy. The end. No no, I kid. Jill is a wonderful person who, after being asked to be a part of their special day, said that she would help with invitations and shower planning without being asked. Now there's a MOH! She has helped Paige by being her gym buddy, as well as providing a venue for such parties as the Great Horrible Christmas Sweater Party of'08; Hallowe'en Beer Pong-a-thon of '08; and not to mention the wonderful birthday parties for Brett in '08 and herself in '09. Long live Earth Hour! Jill's honesty and compatibility with Paige are what's kept her in the game, as well as a shared interest in The Office and South Park.

David : Best Man
David is a music teacher, has a couple of kids, and is one of those people whom you say "Wow. What a genuinely nice guy". He and Tyler met through the chess club, and they both enjoy each others company (which is probably a good thing if he's the best man). David has perfected the art of chess-trash-talking, and is teaching Tyler its subtleties. Tyler's a bit slow with it, but David's pretty patient.

Jamie : Maid-of-Honour part 2
Jamie is the youngest in the wedding party (aside from the obvious young ones like Jessa and Jackson), currently going to school at St. Joseph High School. She is Paige's younger sister, and has taken up the family business of partaking in school band and highland dancing. She represented Saskatchewan at Canadian Championships in Victoria, July 2008. She won the Restricted Premier 14 Years highland trophy. She's reserved, polite, and all around a really good kid. At the time of the wedding, she will be 11 days into her 16th year, and (fingers crossed) hopefully driving. There's a big souped up rust-bucket with her name on it in the driveway at home!

Riley : Groomsman
Riley is Tyler's younger brother. He also works for Hamm Construction, and is currently topman for his crew. He's musically inclined, with guitar, and really enjoys playing in whatever spare time he has. He likes console video games, World of Warcraft, and going to concerts. He's also got the chops to play a wicked round of Rock Band, but maybe we'll just ply him with liquor so he's absolutely terrible and Paige's team wins.

Kaalyn : Maid-of-Honour part 3
Kaalyn has been a friend of Paige's since high school. We're talking about three days into grade 9. As of September of this year, it will be the 10 year anniversary of their friendship. That's silver, isn't it? (Just found out that its tin/aluminum. We'll buy each other a flat of pop and be done with it) Kaalyn has her BSc, and is by no means a science geek. She's supportive, kind, and a fantastic friend. Kaalyn has also been asked to do the toast to the bride, as she's the one in the wedding party with all the stories of their years together. Upon Paige asking her, Kaalyn replied "I might cry". Its pretty much a given that Paige will be crying, so its probably best that Kaalyn will be too.

Evan : Groomsman
Evan is Tyler's older brother. He's got a pretty relaxed demeanor, and has been to Peru twice in the past two years. He's into natural ways of living life, but is realising that phones and internets are something you can incorporate into your natural state of things. He likes South Park and Tool, and those are two bonding things between all three of the guys.

Jackson : Ring Bearer
Jackson is David(and his wife Delee)'s son. Apparently, he took a shine to Tyler pretty much immediately after meeting him. Every time Paige and Tyler go over to David and Delee's, Jackson is right in there with them, talking non-stop and playing and giggling with Tyler. Yeah, Tyler giggles too, but you didn't hear it here.

Jessa : Flower Girl
Jessa is the daughter of Evan and Amanda. She's a very bright and gifted girl, full of smiles and dimples and all sorts of fun phrases. She'll be two and half at the time of the wedding, and if she doesn't feel like walking down the aisle, then she'll be a pretty girl in a pretty dress.

Supporting Cast : not in the spotlight, but by no means less important

Ronda and Earl : Parents of the Bride
Apparently they liked Tyler right off the bat. Who knows if that's actually true, but here's hoping! They have been supportive and helpful for the whole wedding planning process, adding in little suggestions every so often. Couldn't be as sane as I am without them (that's a joke).

Deb and John : Parents of the Groom
Took some poking and prodding, but they've finally come to like Paige and her awkward humour. Methinks they're thankful that she came around, as Tyler admitted that he hadn't been home as much over the course of the months preceeding their relationship as he had once the family was introduced. Go team! Their unflagging support and enthusiasm towards the wedding have been much appreciated.

Father Darryl : Officiant/Guy Who Makes Marriages Legal
We've got his marriage commissioner number, so if anything goes wrong, we... well, I'm not quite sure just WHAT we could do, but we could throw that number around and see if it takes us anywhere. Having just met Father Darryl in the final days before the wedding, Paige and Tyler can't exactly claim to have "known him forever" or "been with him since the beginning", but what they CAN say is that they felt quite at ease with a fellow Riders/FLAMES**/somewhat-geeky fellow, who just so happens to be presiding over their marriage ceremony. Upon going into his office, he had several seasons of Star Trek amidst the different scholastic volumes on his shelves. Never thought to ask him what his feelings on the newest movie were though...(**Originally in this bio, it was listed that he was an Oilers fan. After a Facebook message and a phone call stating different, I quickly changed the preference. Wouldn't want to tick off the guy marrying us! :D)

Wayne : Sucka MC
Wayne has been a friend of Tyler's for five years. He's tall, and Tyler has apparently always envied his hair. He's been a solid friend, and he was great fun on the epic road trip to Waskesiu May Long 2007. While he's now in Vancouver, being an Asian Studies Master (Master of Asian Studies?), every time he comes back to Saskatoon is a blast, and we're always sad to see him go. There was no one else in our mind that we wanted to be our sucka-mc, which makes it that much more amazing that he was totally on board with it. In fact, Paige asked him to be their MC last July. That's how committed she was to the decision.

Brett and Brittany : Passage Readers
Brett and Brittany are good friends to Paige and Tyler, and were recently wed this past June. Funny story, they actually got engaged a few days after Paige and Tyler did, but Brett had done all sorts of planning and scheming to get everything just right... and Tyler just kind of winged it. Because that's the kind of guy that Tyler is. Brett is currently in Med school, working his way towards becoming a doctor that we pester for free drugs and Brittany is an HR extraordinaire. What Brittany and Brett don't know is that they're each reading their own bible verse, not just one together. We'll wait until the rehearsal dinner to spring it on them....

Brett : Passage Reader
Asking Brett to read something at Paige and Tyler's wedding was a no brainer. He's Jill's significant other, he knows other people coming to the wedding aside from the bride and groom, AND he was a friend of Tyler's through the U of S Education. Brett is currently head of the English department at Stoughton High School, something bestowed upon him since his convocation this past spring, and is definitely all kinds of fun. Without Tyler and Brett meeting and becoming friends, Paige never would have met Jill, and there would be a big empty hole in her life where Jill is currently residing (all together now, awwwwwwwwww)

Amanda : Singer/Photographer/Jessa's Mom
Amanda is a wonderful, caring, outgoing, personable person. She's mother to Jessa, the flower girl, and has offered her photography services for the times that Kirk can't be in two places at once. She has also agreed to help out with the singing for the church service, and will probably be helping organize things at some point as well because we all know that Paige is going to crack sometime soon and then watch out!

Evan and Jared Cechanowicz : Musicians
Evan and Jared are good friends of Amanda, belonging to the band All of the Above. They also belong to St.Anne's Parish, so it was pretty much a no-brainer for Paige and Tyler to ask Amanda to ask if they would be part of their celebration. Where Paige has met them once or twice, and Tyler's met them a few more times, they still needed that middle-man to do all the talking and convincing.

Kirk Hayes : Photographer
Paige worked with Kirk at Fuddruckers aeon's ago, or so it seems. He knows what he's doing in a non-condescending way, which is great. The knowing-what-he's doing part moreso. Paige and Tyler are so incredibly grateful that Kirk is their photographer, because its a lot easier doing kissy/romantic things with someone you know instead of a stranger.

Tangyne Berry : Cake Artist Extraordinaire
Tangyne is a friend of Ronda's, through the Saskatoon Highland Dance Association. She has made cakes for several other dancers (or former dancers in Paige's case), and they have been absolutely spectacular. Where Tangyne doesn't have a website, Paige will post any and all pictures of her special wedding cake for others to see, and provide contact information if requested.
